Mortars, Mills & Presses
Wooden Screw Press
DA-0313 · Anatolia
A wooden vertical screw press built around a heavy timber frame and a central threaded spindle. Olives wrapped in cloth were pressed in it to extract oil; today it stands as a sculptural piece for a hotel lobby, a restaurant or a courtyard. Its tall timber structure gives a room strong vertical presence.
