Anatolian Amphorae
Belted Amphora
DA-0105 · Anatolia
Pointed bases and ridged bands define the belted amphora, a tall storage form from Anatolia. The five pieces pictured range from white and buff to black and rust, and from 60 to 80 cm in height. Raised bands circle each body and give the surface a rhythm that suits a plain wall. Used in a hotel lobby, at a restaurant entrance or along a garden wall, they read as sculpture. Offered as part of a grouped collection order; colour and band detail vary from piece to piece.
